On 25 June 2020, the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Urban Development, Water Supply and Housing of Sri Lanka, Dr. Puris Bandu Wickram, and the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Commission on Land Development, General de Zoysa, conducted a field visit to the ongoing project of the China Geo-Engineering Corporation-Sri Lanka Branch (the St.sebastian Northern Gate and Pumping Station Project). The project manager, Mr. Zhang Yuan, and the staff received a warm reception.
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa asked about the project progress, project difficulties, current resumption of work and other related proposals.Ms. Suseli, Project Commander, Ministry of Urban Development, Water Supply and Housing, Sri Lanka, provided answers to the concerns of Prime Minister Mahinda and reported on the current details of the project.
After the inspection, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa fully affirmed the St.sebastian Northern Gate and Pumping Station Project, and highly appraised the leadership attention, planning science, and construction specifications reflected by the Chinese central enterprises in the project construction, High quality, strict management and other traditional advantages, and praised the characteristics of the localized management model of China Geo-Engineering Corp. Sri Lanka Branch.
The St.sebastian Northern Gate and Pumping Station Project is a key project of flood control and drainage in Colombo,Sri Lanka.
