China Geo-Engineering Corporation (referred to as CGC) established in 1982, by State Council approval, is a State-owned large enterprise of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. CGC with its headquarters in Beijing, has more than twenty subsidiary companies, branches, project departments and offices including in Asia and Africa and covers nearly thirty countries and territories.
In 1994 China Geo-Engineering Corporation was among the first batch of Chinese companies to enter the Sri Lanka international construction market and has up to now implemented eighteen projects of total value more than 2 billion CNY. These projects were awarded after international competitive bidding with funding from the Asia Development Bank (ADB), Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), World Bank (WB), Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), Danish Credit Mixed Fund (DCMF) etc. CGC has fulfilled all contract requirements and all projects were completed to the Clients full satisfaction.
During the past twenty years, with extensive experience in project management, adopting advanced construction techniques, having competent design capability, using sophisticated construction equipment and active enterprise culture, CGC has shown prominent performance and has achieved an excellent reputation in the Sri Lanka international bidding market. The general contracting works involved industrial, energy, transportation, civil engineering constructions, etc. Typical works are as follows;
● Pipe works for water supply, sewage and drainage schemes using DI, GRP, vitrified clay , SS, HDPE, PE, CPE, CPP, uPVC pipes, etc. Completed pipe line systems were comprehensive, varying in type from pressure to non-pressure, pipe sizes from 90mm to 2000mm diameter. Contract responsibility included investigations, designs, civil and building construction as well as mechanical & electrical installations including instrumentation and SCADA system. Typical projects were large and medium-sized water supply schemes for cities requiring construction of river intakes, dams, water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, large capacity ground and elevated water reservoirs including post- tensioning, transmission and distribution pipe lines requiring long river and lagoon crossings with undersea outfalls, etc.
● Civil engineering construction including all kind of concrete works for special structures, high buildings, towers, bridges, tanks, dams, piling, underground structures, underwater structures, etc. Utilizing advanced technology and equipment CGC are able to undertake all aspects of designs and construction work.
● Irrigation and conservancy including investigation, design, construction of bridge, culvert, dam, tunnel, underwater structure, explosion, etc.
● Hydropower and wind power generation including geological survey, design and construction with Mechanical & Electrical installation.
● Waste water, waste gas, solid waste management region which under CECEP’s cooperation, CGC are able to implement waste treatment system by advanced technology.
● Geological survey and mineral geological survey
● Geological hazard mitigation including foundation improvement, slope stabilization, etc.
CGC having successfully completed various large and medium-sized projects, has received high praise from the relevant international financial institutions, property owners, the government and people of the host country.
