Up to Feb 2020, the System Rehabilitation for the Water Supply Distribution Network in West of the Colombo City Project is gradually approaching completion, progress is about 90% completed within 75% of plan time duration. Two DMA (District Metered Area) have reached the design requirement (NRW < 18%, Non-Revenue Water) and had been handing over to the Client. The remaining five DMA will also implement subsequent work such as PZT (Pressure Zero Test) and NRW measures, etc. step by step, which is in final stage.

The project is the first smart-water project for the branch in Sri Lanka. Multiple advanced technologies and equipment are applied, such as RTK (Real-time kinematic) with real-time GIS (Geographic Information System) data collection system, 3D GPR (three Dimension Ground-penetrating Radar) technologies for detection of underground objective, and establish an informatization system referred by water network GIS. The schedules of implement greatly save costs, minimize the collateral damage of underground utilities and shorten the construction period, etc. What’s more, the advanced schedules are highly praised by the Client and approved as Variation Order (V.O) with additional payment.
